Administrations gather and collate data of all kinds, including statistical, geographic, environmental and weather data. These can be processed and recombined by third parties. Switzerland’s public authorities are therefore making data available centrally via opendata.swiss that can be reused without restriction. The data offering is being continually expanded.

The Federal Archives are making a range of material available on opendata.swiss, including all the freely accessible metadata of the archival fonds, the data on the state financial statements from 1848 to 2014, and the Official Compilation of Federal Legislation from 1948 to 1998.
