Making data usable with LINDAS
The LINDAS Linked Data Service enables administrative offices to publish their data as machine-readable graphs. Combined with the integrated visualisation function, this makes LINDAS an ideal solution for preparing and publishing open government data (OGD). LINDAS is a service offered by the Swiss Federal Archives.
- LINDAS allows open data from the Federal Administration to be published in the Swiss data ecosystem.
- Data in linked data format are easy to connect and reuse, while reducing expensive interfaces and data silos.
- The linked data infrastructure supplies data in real time.
Advantages and examples
Data are published using the Resource Description Framework (RDF). This format is perfect for depicting networks or branches in historical data.
Visualise in real time
Automated visualisations allow live data to be presented on any desired website.
Example: Spread of bluetongue disease © FSVO/LINDAS
Enable analyses
The current overview of Swiss electricity prices uses LINDAS and allows the prices of cantons, communes and network operators to be compared.
