The Federal Archives website offers a range of tips and aids for successful research. Additional support may be obtained via our online chat advice service or by submitting a written enquiry.

Do you need help researching the fonds of the Federal Archives? The key stages of an efficient search are explained in the searching and ordering and consulting sections. If you don’t yet know where to search, you can find detailed advice on researching in frequently requested areas in the topics. The fonds overview is a good place to start your topic search. Assistance with technical issues can be found in the Swiss Archives database handbook.
